Here's a recipe that was passed down from old friends to another old friends. Special thanks to Yin Choon auntie for this recipe
Ingredient
Mackerel 600g
coconut milk 200g
corn starch 2 tbsp
egg 1 pc
laksa leaves
sugar 1 tbsp
salt 2 tsp
dash of pepper
Spices
tumeric & galanglal 1 inch each (pound)
buah keraus 10 pcs (pound)
lemongrass 6 pcs
garlic 10pcs
shallot 30 pcs
red chilli 8 pcs
dried chilli 50cents
Method
1. Blend all the spices together except those that needed to be pounded
2. Chop the fish into small pieces
Verdict
- the otah was too mushy and spicy for our taste
- need to chop the fish into very small pieces {almost like a paste}
- need to work on it a little more
