Have been eyeing to make this after reading this wonderful recipe book ???hawker secret recipe from Malaysia!!
The preparation is pretty simple and very appetising - definitely a keeper
Ingredient A
200g minced meat
60g sweet turnip
1/2 egg
1tbsp corn flour
Ingredient B:
10 Chinese mushroom (soaked)
1 stalk spring onion
10 carrot slices
4 ginger slices
1/2 tsp chopped garlic
300 ml water (use use mushroom water)
Marinade:
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp sesame oil
Seasoning
1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
1/2 tbsp light soya sauce
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1 tbap "Shaoxing" cooking wine
Method:
1. Mix ingredient A with Marinade, then form mixture into meat balls. Deep fry in hot oil at high heat till golden brown and cooked. Remove and drain well, keep aside
2. Leave 2 tbsp oil in wok, fry ginger and garlic till fragrant, add in mushroom and seasoning, stir fry till aromatic
3. Pour in water and bring to boil, cover, simmer at low heat for 5 mins, then add meat balls, continue simmer for another 5 min
4. Last, add carrot and sring oinion, toss well. Thicken with little cornstarch solution. Serve hot
