Yam cake has been a traditional Teochew snack, something which is very close to heart since mum is a teochew. All of us love yam, we used yam for mnay dishes and this is one of the signature dish of my family.
Ingredient
Yam cut into cubes
dried shrimp
dried mushroom soak and diced
rice flour 600g
water
shallots sliced
Method
1. Fry the shallots, dried shrimp, mushroom till fragrant
2. Add water to rice flour and pour the mixture into the wok with shallot, dried shrimp, mushroom
3. Continue to stire till the mixture thicken
4. Transfer to a container with cellophone paper and steam for about 30 mins till fork come out clean in the centre
